Philanthropy

At Civic Financial, we believe education and health to be driving forces behind our clients’ success, the success of our firm, and that of the broader community. We are privileged to volunteer our time and resources, and to sponsor a robust employee gift-matching program that supports these causes. These principles drive many of our firm’s charitable initiatives, and we are especially passionate about the causes below:

  • We are deeply involved in giving back to the educational institutions that guided us. Civic offers pro bono work for teachers and gives annually to our alma maters to propel the next generation of entrepreneurs. We also sponsor internship programs for students to learn about the professional world and shape their knowledge of financial planning.

  • Our firm is intrinsically health conscious—our partners are collegiate athletes, marathoners, and CrossFit competitors. Our team is passionate about the outdoors and our environment. We have given back as individuals and as a firm by running races, competing in charitable athletic events, cleaning our local nature reserves, and contributing to youth fitness and character-building causes.

  • We are especially proud to support the SquashBusters Organization. SquashBusters is an after-school youth enrichment program that combines the sport of squash with academic mentoring and ongoing, post-secondary support. CEO Scott DeSantis began volunteering for SquashBusters in 2009, and Civic continues to compete and donate annually.

  • Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under age 15, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand raises money for research and awareness of the cause. Civic Financial participates in events for Alex’s Lemonade Stand such as the annual Boston Corporate Cup and the annual Roots and Wings 5k in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
